The time has come when all the Year End Functions begin and teams get the chance to reflect on thier success over the past year and prepare themselves for yet another long year ahead of them. I went to Hadeda Creek last year for my Year End Function and we had an absolute blast!

We went river rafting for the day, had sundowners and snacks on the last stretch of the river. Ted was "man-overboard" in his attempt to impress the ladies by trying to stand up and balance himself for 60 seconds in his inflatable croc, (everyone knows men are useless at balancing!). We had a splendid spit-braai dinner under the stars, danced the night away and then, (despite our intoxication), all succeeded in doing the up-side-down canoe shooter! WOW, what fun! To top it all off, we woke up to a full farmhouse buffet breakfast! There is no better hang-over cure!

It may have been rustic and dark sleeping in the tent at night... and the girls were complaining about spiders... even though we didnt see one the entire time we were there, but we had a blast and i hope we experience, if not the same, something similar this year!

YES WE CAN!

Times are tough for many and even harder for most, but when there's a will, there's a way and today we felt a team conquer their goals the right way!

The team was going through some conflict due to a fear that had developed in their working environment from the sad case of retrenchment. This team is unfortunately one of the many victims of reccession with mixed feelings of anger, worry and miscommunication amongst the group members.

I am proud of the HiSide facilitation team who created a fun, interactive environment where the team discussed thier endevours openly and helped each other tackle thier differences one by one. As the grand finale to the days motivational discussion on "YES WE CAN," we ended the day with an exciting Murder Mystery Investigation teambuilding activity whereby, the team had to work effectively together with the objective of achieving a common goal. As a result, they said, "YES WE CAN!" and succeeded.

What a lovely getaway!

It was a lovely day at Hadeda Creek this week for the HiSide teambuilding sales team and we were flattered to have Keiyara Bugwandeen from the Travel Learning Centre join us on our training session and learn about our venue and teambuilding events. Thank you Nadia and Jean Van Rooyen for making the event possible. We are proud to welcome Vicky, our new sales consultant and facilitator to the team and were overwhelmed by her courage in climbing the enormous climbing wall and high ropes course. Well done Vicky!

All the best to the HiSide teambuilders!

I'd like to take this opportunity in wishing the HiSide teambuilders all the best on thier excursion to Hadeda Creek next week, you deserve the getaway! As teambuilding facilitators, i'm sure the training, teambuilding and conferencing will take you from good to great and i know it's cold, but the river rafting should be quite an experience. Vicky, we know you have a fear of heights from the last exciting journey you went on, which gives you all the more reason to go up the climbing wall and high ropes course and show us your courageous side. Let me know if she does it team... no pressure Vicky!

Wow, I had the best bus trip ever last week!

Wow, I had the best bus trip ever last week! Who would've thought an hour in a bus on route to Gold Reef City could be as fun as going on the actual rides. As a HiSide Group teambuilding facilitator I was given the exciting opportunity to facilitate a brand new teambuild we've just had the pleasure of unleashing into the marketplace. We unfortunately havent decided on a name yet, but it's just like Prison Break. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.

After hand cuffing, body searching and shackeling each team member up as they got onto the bus, the teambuild began. The team took on a number of exciting tasks in the struggle to obtain thier keys that would open thier locks and set them free. The entire team had to be free before arrival and they just made it on the nick of time. This week will be our first "Prison Break" attempt at a venue instead of in a bus...I cant wait!

Finally Hadeda Creek is complete!

Finally our conference room is complete! Congradulations to all the Hadeda Creek staff involved in it's completion, we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Hadeda Creek is in top form and the atmosphere is buzzing already, and it's not even summer and river rafting season yet! I'm so happy we can accommodate large groups for conferencing and watch as teams enjoy our facilities based on the banks of the Vaal River. There is no better way to conference, than being surrounded by a flowing river and nature at its best!
